Wow...I was introduced to this tea room via email from the owner’s daughter, I visited this tea room on my day off on Wednesday 7th November 2012 and I was very glad I did.
This is an English tea room of the highest quality in terms of presentation and food. Not a cafe, not a restaurant but a tea room in the true sense.
Lace/embroiidered tablecloths, china tea cups and saucers, a beautiful white Welsh dresser, pastel walls with low white ceilings made this visit enjoyable and very pleasant. A lovely, clean and fresh atmosphere makes this tea room among the best in the South East if not England.
I had a jacket potato with cream cheese and mushrooms with coleslaw and a salad garnish; absolutely delicious, with a pot of Assam tea. I could not resist the fruit scone and butter, so I had one.
Light lunches, board special, cakes, afternoon cream teas, large selection of teas and coffees with cold drinks are offered.
I had a lengthy chat to the attractive owner, Mary. She has agreed to be filmed for the next tea room web video so stay tuned!
I can highly recommend this tea room. Lots of parking and sincerely a catch within this English tea room fraternity. Call first to check open hours and they are restricted during winter months.
